Gretchen Henson, DDS

Why did you choose your profession?
I made the decision to become a dentist before I even started kindergarten! No one in my family is a dentist, but it’s the only job I’ve ever wanted and I’m lucky to have found my passion so early in life. As a pediatric dentist, I have the unique role of working with children every 6 months as they grow from infancy through adolescence. If I can send your child off to college without a cavity then I have done my job.

Why do you work at NOAH?
My undergraduate degree is in Public Health and NOAH allows me the opportunity to incorporate both my love of dentistry with my need to serve our community. As a pediatric dentist, I am specially trained to work with vulnerable populations and special needs patients. Working with NOAH allows me to provide integrative medicine with our teams in medical, behavioral health and nutrition to provide a complete approach to overall wellness.

I still maintain my standing as a first responder with the New York City Medical Reserve Corps. We are a group of medically trained professionals established in response to the events of 9/11. I am on faculty for the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health as well as the pediatric dental residents from NYU-Langone who train here in Arizona. In my free time, I enjoy running and participating in community events. I have one son with Autism.
